Fort Bragg’s three glass beaches are just a half mile — an easy, flat walk — from the Atrium.
What people currently call Glass Beach is located in MacKerricher State Park. The State Parks consider the sea glass a “cultural resource” and may not be taken. At nearby beaches outside the state park, you may collect sea glass. However, we encourage you to search for the the one or two rare colors — ruby red and sapphire blue — and leave the rest for others to discover.
A visit to the Sea Glass Museum, about two miles from the Atrium, is filled with interesting finds from the three glass beaches which were once the city’s trash dumps.
