—Posted Monday, October 24th, 2011 at 5:51 pm—
Some of the characters you’ll meet in the new web series “Sundays” may seem familiar, and the setting surely will. That’s because this new dramatic series for the Internet was produced and filmed locally in Fort Bragg and vicinity by Fog Line Films Writer and Director Forrest Naylor.
“Sundays” is a series of ten-minute webisodes with a new installment airing each week on the Internet and on local access television. According to Naylor, it’s a continuing story about “a hodgepodge of characters with intertwining lives in a small coastal town.”
A number of cast members have impressive theater, TV and motion picture experience, and some are local residents.
You’re invited to meet the cast and crew at a premier, red carpet screening. Here are the details:

Abalone Cook-Off & Festival Friday October 8, 10 am-4 pm At Noyo Harbor
—Posted Friday, October 7th, 2011 at 2:15 pm—
Last year’s Grand Prize winning dishes included Lemon Stir Fry Abalone over Bacon Fried Rice, Thai Style Abalone Cakes, and Mountain Classic Abalone Salad.
Tasting/judging tickets are sold out, but there’s lots more to do. The Festival is free and features live music, a craft fair, raffle and silent auction. A delightful array of food (clam chowder, shrimp cocktails, polish dogs, and variety of desserts), as well as wine and beer, are available for purchase.
All proceeds benefit MAPA, a non-profit organization that funds natural and cultural history programs in our local state parks. Because of recent state budget related threats to a number of local state parks, MAPA has expanded its focus to address ways to keep these parks open. The Abalone Cook-Off & Festival is MAPA’s biggest and most important fundraiser.
