It’s been a tradition on the coast for many years — perhaps decades — for artists and merchants to hold a sort of public open house in downtown Fort Bragg the first Friday of each month.

On October 7, many galleries and shops will be open from 5pm to 8pm to show off their wares. Some will even offer complimentary hors d’oeuvres and wine.

This month’s featured attraction will be a special strolling concert presented by the Mendocino Women’s Choir. Choir members will sing along Franklin, Main, and Laurel Streets, presenting a rousing program of civil rights and empowerment songs, African chants, a Georgia Sea Island spiritual and some engaging ukulele sing-along. It’s pure fun and a must-see event for locals and visitors.
